Hiragana concepts
These started as thumbnail sketches that I drew while my son was studying the Japanese hiragana letter forms. He is obsessed with Star Wars, so I thought it would be a fun exercise to do letter-form vehicles like the X wing, A wing, et al... but to utilize the gestural strokes of the hiragana alphabet as a planform.

Here is another round of the hiragana concepts. These were actually sketched before the previous batch, but perhaps because the other one, had more character work, it was a little easier to delve into. These are more "ships" that stick to the original premise.
